HEALTHCOM 2010: “AMBIENT ASSISTIVE LIVING FOR BETTER HEALTH”

Welcome!

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to participate in the 12th International Conference on e-Health Networking, Application & Services (Healthcom2010) scheduled on 1-3 July 2010 in Lyon, France.

Telecommunications and Networks are enabling technologies for telemedicine in remote and rural locations, but also for continuous health monitoring out of hospital, at home, and during sports, leisure or professional activities.

The Healthcom2010 is an opportunity to bring together interested parties from around the world working in the health care field to exchange ideas, to discuss innovative and emerging solutions and to develop collaborations. Participants include clinicians, hospital administrators, IT professionals, researchers, educators, healthcare solutions vendors, and consultants. Healthcom2010 is also an important forum for discussions on e-Health projects sponsored by world bodies such as ITU, WHO and EC, including FP6 and FP7 European projects (AAL, e-inclusion, ICT…)

The proceedings will be published in IEEE Xplore and EI indexed. As in previous years, the best papers from Healthcom2010 will be submitted for publication in major international refereed journals. Healthcom2010 is fully sponsored by the IEEE Communication Society and also supported by the IEEE-EMBS French chapter, the SFGBM and the GDR-STIC Santé.

Healthcom was successfully held in Sydney, Australia (1999 and 2000), L’Aquila, Italy (2001), Nancy, France (2002), Santa Monica, USA (2003), Odawara, Japan (2004), Busan, Korea (2005), New Dehli, India (2006), Taipei, Taiwan (2007), Singapore (2008), and Sydney, Australia (2009).

The city of Lyon, more than 2000 years old, has 3 Romans theaters, a cathedral, 29 museums… and has been classified as a world heritage by Unesco. Lyon is in the middle of the vineyards of Beaujolais, Burgundy and Rhône valley. It is traversed by 2 rivers, the Rhône and the Saône, though the locals believe there is a 3rd one: The Beaujolais River! Lyon is also close to the Alps mountains (200 km from Mont Blanc), Paris (2 hours by TGV) and the French Riviera (1.5 hours by car).
